Any sink anywhere is worthless without a faucet. A faucet, or sometimes known as a tap, is the mechanism which controls the water release from the pipes into your sink. Without a faucet the amount of water released, along with the temperature would be impossible to judge and control. Many people at first do not realize the importance of having a good faucet, but a good quality faucet, especially in the kitchen is a must. Below are some of the most popular and reputable brands of kitchen faucet makers, with prices to match.

Kohler make many different types of kitchen faucet, with their most popular models the pull out spray variety’s. The pull out spray variety’s are particularly effective in kitchens, as they allow you to monitor the amount of water which comes out. Pull out spray taps are ideal for all kitchens, as they are hard working, durable and even look good! There are various types of pull out spray taps, including ones with an extendable hose, ideal for washing up and cleaning things where you may need extra hose length. Kohler make all different types of faucets, for home use and commercial use. The price you pay depends on the quality of the product, although all their products are perfectly adequate. Expect to pay between $200 and $450 for a Kohler kitchen faucet.

Delta are another company which design good quality kitchen faucets. Bridging the gap between quality products and cheapness of the product is something which Delta are well known for, as they are able to offer great quality and durable faucets at an affordable price. Delta provide various different types of kitchen faucets, including the pull out spray variety, as well as others. Their wall mounted designs are perfect for anyone trying to get and original and unique look to their kitchen. Ideal for rustic atmospheres and kitchens where there is a lot of life, these wall mounted faucets are available in various colors and sizes, and use two taps, saving you the hassle of trying to find the hot and cold water with just one tap. A Delta wall mounted faucet can be found for around $280, a good price for a good product.

Danze are slightly more upmarket than Delta and Kohler, with many of their products being found in some of the most expensive resorts in the country! The work that goes into the faucets is huge, and all their products are checked over thoroughly before being shipped to retailers. Expect to pay a little more for Danze taps, with a price tag of $583 for one of their wall mounted faucets. It may seem like a lot to pay, and it is a fair bit of money, but the control you have over the water flow is incredible, and is ideal for cooking so you can get exactly the right amount of water that you want. Head down to a local retailer or online to find the best prices you can for a kitchen faucet.

Kohler market themselves as being one of the most intuitive companies around which deal in kitchen sink design. They use the latest technology to deliver quality and unique products which are fit for any kitchen, be it a small kitchen, a large kitchen or even restaurant and bar kitchens. Kohler put all their products through rigorous quality assurance checks, and they make sure that every one of their products is tested before being sent to the retailers and distributors.

One of the main reasons people go to Kohler for a sink, is because Kohler offer a service where they will make a sink designed for your custom needs. This means that if you have very limited space available, and you cannot find a suitable sink to fit in the required space, Kohler will custom build a sink dial for your needs. They will take the exact measurements you need, along with the color, the finish and the faucet you want included. This gives you complete control when purchasing, as you really can have the sink made exactly like you want it.

Kohler produce all different types of sinks, and below are listed the various different styles of sinks, as well as the price you should expect to pay for them.

    * The under mount sink, ideal for your average kitchen or bathroom sink. Sunk beneath the surface, washing up is easily accomplished with this type of sink. An under mount sink from Kohjler will cost you around $250.

    * An inset sink is great is you want a place to dry your cups and plates after washing them. With an overflow section designed to keep water levels safe, an inset sink is great for any kitchen where washing up is done. Expect to pay around $350 for a inset sink from Kohler.

    * A sit on sink from Kohler is a great idea for people who want to create a modern and unique look in their bathroom or kitchen. A sit on sink may be more suited to a bathroom than a kitchen, as space can be limited, but that’s not to say you can;t use it in a kitchen. A sit on sink is raised above the counter, rather than being built in to it. This gives you more freedom but less room, so you have to weigh up the pros and cons. Expect to pay about $300 for a sit down sink from Kohler.

Whatever type of sink you are looking for, Kohler have many different types, and remember if you cannot find the right one for you contact them directly and ask them about the custom options. Look around the internet for up to date pricing on all of Kohlers products, as you should be able to pick up a bargain somewhere. Remember, don’t rush into anything, take your time when viewing and make sure you are happy before you purchase anything.

When people think of Stainless Steel sinks, they often think of kitchens and restaurants. Most people do not consider that stainless steel sinks could actually look great in their bathroom, and today many bathrooms are equipped with a stainless steel sink, for various reasons.

Firstly, the pricing of stainless steel sinks is usually considerably less than for other types, such as glass sinks. Steel sinks are readily available and are extremely durable, with many sinks coming with lifetime guarantees. The actual prices of stainless steel sinks can vary greatly, but usually $200 – $400 will get you a very good quality one which should be easily enough for all your needs.

Secondly, Stainless steel sinks, if chosen and installed correctly can add a very unique and modern touch to any bathroom. The sink tends to be a focal point of the room, and can make for a very appealing piece. Obviously a stainless steel sink will work in any kitchen or wash room.

Franke are a good brand of stainless steel sinks. Franke offer a huge selection of designs to choose from, and have been in the business for many years, so they know what they are doing. Every sink goes through quality checks, and all their products are made with great care and enthusiasm, which is why they have built themselves such a great name. Franke Stainless Steel sinks typically range from around $200 to $400, depending on the size of the sink in question, as well as the type of model and most importantly, where you purchase the sink from.

Blanco are another great stainless steel sink maker, and are a very reputable business. They provide a large selection of designs, and offer many of their sinks in a whole bathroom design, perfect fro those planning on re doing their whole bathroom altogether. Blanco sinks all go through quality checks just like Franke, and Blanco sinks tend to retail for around $300, but this can vary largely depending on where you purchase their sinks from.

Astracast are another good make of stainless steel sinks, and provide some of the top of the range sinks on the market. Often supplying sinks to commercial premises, Astracast are renowned for producing quality and long lasting products. Their sinks come with long guarantees, and you can find their sinks all over the country. Expect to pay anywhere from $200 to $500 for a stainless steel sink from Astracast, size and quality being the main factor with the price.

Whatever brand you choose to go for, make sure you have measured up your exact size requirements, as mistakes can be a pain to rectify and could end up costing you even more money. Do not rush into buying the first sink you see that you like, if you find a nice one search around other shops for the same model, as you may be able to find the same sink for much cheaper.

Many people assume that a bathroom is not a very important part of the house, it is not usually seen by the outside eye, and is generally not thought off to be used very much. However, when you think about it, when you are in the bathroom, you are usually having a bath, a time when you need to relax and let your body calm down. A bathroom which looks ugly and out of date is not appealing to anyone, and one of the main focal points in a bathroom is the sink. You may not think a sink is a very important part, but near enough every time you use the bathroom you will use the sink at some point, and usually it stands out when you first walk into the room.

There are many different types of sink to consider, with the main factor being of course your personal choice. It is also important to take into consideration things such as measurements and colors, which will play a vital part in whether or not the sink suits your bathroom.

A popular style of sink that is starting to become increasingly popular is the glass sink. Not only does the sink look great and stylish, it gives any bathroom a special charm, and can turn it from looking drowsy and boring, to look stylish and well equipped.

There are endless different types of sink, ranging in color, size, price, design, function-ability amongst other features. When looking for a glass sink you will need to figure out what type of sink will make your bathroom look great, and which type wont. You also want to think of any storage issues like the pedestal sink storage problem.

A particularly reputable brand of glass sinks are the Kraus brand. Kraus are well known for their dedication to their work, and the fine attention to detail. Using modern technology to create the perfect glass sink, you can be sure that a Kraus sink is a good quality sink. Good quality comes at a price however, with Kraus sinks being typically more expensive than other less reputable brands. Kraus sinks range from around $300 right up to nearly $1000 for the top models, although you are guaranteed good quality so the price is usually worth it.

Another reputable brand of glass sinks is Franke. Franke sinks are often found in top of the range hotels and expensive places, and the quality and workmanship is truly amazing. They produce their glass sinks in a variety of design, and finding a sink to suit your individual needs is not usually a problem However, with Franke, the price can be very high, with their typical glass sinks going for about $500. The price you pay however on any sink largely depends on where you get it from, and it is well worth taking a look around various different shops to get the best price.

When buying a glass sink take your time, and make sure you measure your requirements correctly, as it can be disastrous to get wrong.

Vessel sinks are becoming increasingly popular, and are starting to make an appearance in many households due to their unique style and look. They are usually self contained, rather than being set into a cabinet or other type of unit. This tends to make a room look more spacious, and gives a grand and appealing effect to the room. Many vessel sinks are designed to look rustic, and are becoming more commonly found in complete bathrooms, otherwise known as bathrooms that are supplied by a company as a whole package. This means that all units in the bathroom will match and fir together fairly well. A big feature of a Vessel Sink is the faucet which it uses, as this can either make or break the overall design.

When it comes to looking at faucets, many people assume that they are unimportant. People tend to think that a faucet is simply a faucet, and simply distributes water and nothing else. While this is partly true, there are many benefits of having a good quality faucet when compared to having a poor one. More often than not, a vessel sink will come a faucet installed, but if yours does not, or you are not happy with the way it looks, than a replacement faucet could be a good idea to consider.

It can be difficult to price up how much you will need to pay for a faucet, but as a general idea, you should be able to get hold of on for around $200. The amount you spend largely depends on the quality of model, as well as the company who manufacture it and the shop you buy it from.

Eden Bath are a reputable and reliable source of Vessel Sink faucets, and have plenty of different designs to choose from. Whether you are looking for metal faucets, or faucets designed to look like wood, Eden Bath have got all types of models designed to suit your every need. Their models start at around $150, and range up to around $250.

Kraus are another company which are well known for their good quality faucets. They have designed faucets in a variety of models, including vintage, metal along with bamboo. Faucets from Kraus are to be found at around $200-$400, depending on the model you go for, and where you purchase from.

Whether you want a cheap, budget faucet for your vessel sink, or an expensive and lavish one, the internet is one of your best methods of research, as there is a seemingly endless supply of designs and types. Prices can appear to be high, but remember you really do get what you pay for, and buy saving yourself money in the short run, you may very well end up costing yourself more money in the future, in terms of maintenance bills if the faucet messes up. Don’t rush into buying anything, and always check the measurements of the faucet you need before you actually buy it.

I like lots of pedestal sinks but the following three are really cool. Some are pretty expensive like the St. Thomas Creations Liberty Pedestal Lavatory Sink and others like the Colony Pedestal Sink by American Standard are not that high priced. I’ll be discussing what is cool about these pedestal sinks and what their features and dimensions are. Keep reading to get all the details.

I’ll start off with the St. Thomas Creations Liberty Pedestal Lavatory Sink that you can pick up for around $450. I would consider its look very simple yet the simplicity is what makes it look so clean and so nice. It is made from vitreious china and has a rear overflow. It has 12 inch center faucet drilling’s and is 25.5 inches wide by 21.75 inches by 34.12 inches high. There are no markings like ridges or patterns on the pedestal leg or on the top bowl part. It is fairly large for a pedestal sink which is why I think I like it so much. There looks to be room for a soap dispenser.

Now I’ll move onto the $200 Colony Pedestal Sink by American Standard. It is also made from vitreous china but its overflow is in the front of the bowl. I’m a fan of this pedestal sink since there is a nice ledge for accessories or a soap dish. You can get the Colony with 4 inch or 8 inch faucet drilling’s. I would prefer the 8 inch drilling’s. The size of its bowl is 17.5 inches by 11.5 by 5.5 inches. The overall size of the sink is 21.75 inches by 18.5 by 34 inches. There is a nice simple design on the pedestal leg and there is a lower ledge where the faucet goes. Both of these features help to sell me on this pedestal sink.

When looking to buy a pedestal sink there are so many choices out there its like getting an information overload. There are really tons and tons of options to check out. To simplify things I think you should start off knowing if you want a fancy pedestal sink or just a simple one. Don’t get me wrong there is nothing wrong with either pick. They both look great; the only reason you start out this way is so you can narrow your choices and make it easier when finding a pedestal sink for your bathroom.

I’ll start out discussing a the characteristics of a simple or plain pedestal sink. Usually they will lack a lot of designs and special features. They are just your standard sink. Think no fancy curves but rather a plain pedestal leg and on top is just a simple sink bowl. Although having something so simple in your bathroom can really improve its look. Its funny but lots of bathrooms look better with a simple plain pedestal sink than a fancy one. These types can work in either a bathroom with a lot going on or just a little bit of background colors. Think about it, if you have a nice little, simple bathroom a perfect sink for it would be just a normal pedestal sink with out all the frills. It will fit right in. On the other hand a simple pedestal sink will look nice in a bathroom with lots going on since it will stand out from the surrounding busyness and draw your eye to it.

While a simple pedestal sink can pretty much go with any type of bathroom I think that a fancy pedestal sink should only be used when the bathroom is also very fancy and has a lot of extras to it. The reason is that in a fancy pedestal sink would stick out to much and make your little, simple powder room look weird. I know some people do not agree with this but its just my humble opinion on how it would look. So once you decide on either simple or fancy you can start a more in depth search on exactly which model you will get. Thats enough info for this posts, I’ll discuss picking the right pedestal model for you in the next post.

As you have probably seen most pedestal sinks are white in color. Most of them are a bright shade of white but some others are darker or lighter. Do you think you would like it if they came in multiple colors? I have yet to see a place that had lots of pedestal sinks in different colors. This post will discuss my thoughts on this.

When you think of a pedestal sink what comes to mind right away. I think of a stunning white color as the color of the sink. I think most people would agree with this assessment. Back in the day pedestal sinks where white and since people over the last few decades have been interested in putting them back in their homes they have used the white color. The white color is great and can pretty much work for any powder room or other bathroom theme. But lets go over how a black or yellow pedestal sink would look in your bathroom.

For certain color bathroom color schemes I think have a pedestal sink that is not white could do wonders for the room. Think about if you have a bathroom that is mostly white or light colors. Putting a black pedestal sink in there would make it really stand out and also it would be the focal point of the room. It would also impress your friends a lot, I bet. Now that is a method to have it stand out from the rest of your decor the next is to have it blend perfectly.

A lot of people like to go for an ocean theme or a sky one. This usually involves some kind of blue colors or a combination of blue colors. How cool would a dark blue pedestal sink look in a bathroom that is has lots of light blue in it. I think it would blend in perfect or you could even make the pedestal sink light blue in color so it blends in even better.

Installing a pedestal sink is not hard if you pay attention to a few important details. Also you should take your time and not rush when working on the install. I know lots of people who try to quickly get the sink up but they end up messing something up or the pedestal sink does just not sit right. Also keep in mind that you should read through any instructions that come with your pedestal sink. This is only a general guide.

Okay now on to your simple guide for installing a pedestal sink. If you have never installed one, you might not realize that you need to support the sink similar to a normal vanity sink. It would be nice if all the pipes could come out of the bottom of the floor and up the pedestal to your faucets but this is just not the case. I think it would be really cool to have a pedestal sink in the middle of a huge master bathroom. But the only way to do this would be to have all the plumbing come up from the floor and you would probably need a special supports around the base to support the sink with out the help of a wall. Sorry for the off topic info, it just popped in my head and I thought it would be really neat.

Now all you have to do is place your pedestal sink where you want it. Then you will need to get a level which will be used so you can mark the spot on the floor and the spots on the wall where you will be mounting the sink. Next you will pull the pedestal sink away from the wall and floor markings and get your drill. You will now be drilling out the holes that you marked off in the above steps. After this you will install the faucet and drain assembly. Keep in mind you usually have to buy the valves and faucet separate.

Once that is all done you will be using your fasteners or screws to fix the top lavatory part to the wall. Then all you got to do is connect the trap and drain assembly pieces. Once you have the top bowl part tightly secured to the wall you will next drill holes in the floor and use your bolts to secure the pedestal base. Be careful when tightening the bolts. If you over do it, you can actually crack the porcelain. Thats pretty much it for a simple install guide. Keep in mind this is just a simple overview to give you an idea on how to install your pedestal sink.
